Skin Ball

Skin Ball

Format: Book

Medium: Text

Skin Ball is my most developed IP at the moment. It takes place in post-apocalyptic earth that has been ravaged by multiple world wars. Nations and states have splintered, reforming in new ways with new boundaries.

In the former USA, the Federate States have formed and are governed loosely by fragile alliances. An enforcement group called the Protectorate maintains order with a steel fist and no mercy. As a result of the wars, society and progress have been set back. Freedom has been taken and all but the elite are treated as slaves. Women, especially, are the most persecuted and abused.

Sports have become the primary form entertainment and population control. Cities and their rulers use their sports teams as leverage and make deals based on wins and losses. Skin Ball, formerly american football, is the most popular of the sports. The teams are all female, scantily clad and forced to endure harsh conditions, training, and games in the name of entertainment, and worse. Thanks to cloning technology, the sport is much more violent than former versions.

Skin Ball - The Rookie, follows Missti Lee and her brother, Jason. When a rebel plan doesn't go exactly as planned, Missti is taken and given ownership by the Kentucky Ponies, who are hoping she can become their star quarterback and lead them to a championship. Missti, traumatized by the treatment of her family, including watching her mother get brutally gang raped, has to overcome her personal obstacles and find a way to freedom by any means necessary.

Meanwhile, her brother Jason must work his way up through the political structure of the Buffalo Broads organization. While he is exactly where he is supposed to be, many unforeseen circumstances make his goal harder and a lot stands in his way, the least of which is how to help his sister. Harboring guilt for getting her wrapped up in the rebel machinations, Jason must decide what his priorities are and what risks he will take to resist oppression and free those he loves.

Skin Ball is violent, full of sex, dystopian, and pulls no punches. The world is much larger than this first series, and future plots will center around other countries, how war works after the last treaty was signed, and some other surprises that are in store.
